I've been in this art rut lately and I've had a realization about something, particularly after watching a livestream of Matt Frank inking a Godzilla picture.
Patience can do amazing things for your artwork. I have a bad habit of wanting to rush to get something finished and becoming extremely frustrated if I can't finish a picture within a day or so. I had put so much time into learning new things that I couldn't figure out why I still can't make better looking art? I think the answer is that it takes time and patience. I also think the more patience you have towards your work the quicker you will become over time. Just a little thought I had today.

Art Frustrations = I'll Conquer You

Desperately trying to get better at art so I can pursue my dreams. It is frustrating having a vision that my skill level can't create quite just yet. Practice, practice, practice, reading, study, reading. Started this journey of art 2 years ago, drawing a little lemur monster. Came a long way since then and plan to go even further. But it appears the only way any of this will work is if I put a lot of time and effort into it. Keeping the eyes on the prize. Life has been getting me down lately, but damn it I'm not giving up just because things are getting tough. I need to work harder and improve faster. There is a goal that must be achieved!

Drawing drawing drawing! Haven't been able to work on art stuff very much for a while and it is very nice getting some time to do it. Looking into ways to improve even further. Bought a few books the other day: one on human anatomy, manga tips and one on clothing. Also plan on taking a few online art classes I saw available online. It is nice seeing improvements and realizing your goals aren't quite as far off as when you first started. (Though still have a ways to go) All in all I hope to be putting out much better art in the future!
